Fred Willard’s American Festivals made me want to head out to Tip Up Town, Michigan, to cut a hole in the frozen lake and do some ice fishing. When it comes to bringing a unique flavor to some of America’s best and quirkiest festivals, there’s one person who can combine humor, hometown sensibility, and genuine curiosity, and that’s Fred Willard.

I loved cutting the Doo-Dah Parade episode. I have gone to this spoof of the Tournament of Roses Parade, and seeing Fred offer commentary on such acts as the BBQ & Hibachi Marching Grill Team, the Invisible Man Marching Band, and the Bastard Sons of Lee Marvin was fun.

The Travel Channel features documentaries and how-to shows related to travel and leisure around the United States and the world. Every time I work on a show here I vow to save more of my paycheck so I can visit the colorful places that pass through my editing room monitor.
