I worked on the first season of Lifetime’s “America’s Supernanny.” The network retooled the old ABC show and brought in a new Nanny, Denorah Tillman.

From Sidereel: “A critically acclaimed documentary series profiling women with unusual, and often surprising, lifestyles and interests. The show probes little-known subcultures of women in the United States. Real women reveal their deepest, darkest secrets. From fetishes and fantasies to polygamists to the dirty little secrets of suburbia, go inside their very different worlds for a glimpse at what makes these fascinating women tick.”

I worked on this series for four seasons, the last two and a half as lead editor.

Each episode of this documentary series profiled a group of otherwise diverse women opening up their  personal lives regarding some secret they have in common, from fetishes to fantasies and beyond.

Clips from: “Secret Lives of Women”

From New York Times.com: “Some viewers watch “Secret Lives of Women,” now in its second season, for kicks, but the intent is quite serious, even though the topics are high tabloid. The season premiere was about women who injure themselves, “Cutters,” and next week the series looks at women who marry cross-dressers. But the documentaries interview the women at length, without much analysis or interpretation by experts, and some seem quite rational.”

Here is the first ten minutes of the “Cutters” episode, where women who self-harm talk about their experiences and reveal what drives them to injure themselves.

In CBS’s reality show, "Dogs In The City,” New York City dog guru Justin Silver acts as a helping hand to dogs and their owners with various problems, from a dog having difficulty adjusting to its owners' divorce to a woman terrified of her boyfriend's golden retriever.

From training to owning his own pet care company, Silver has a long history with dogs. He also founded Funny or Fido, a nonprofit organization that raises money for homeless animals through a yearly stand-up comedy event.

“Dogs are at the center of the story here, but this is a show that reveals as much about human nature as man’s best friend,” executive producer Carol Mendelsohn (who executive produced by "CSI"), said in a statement.  “Dogs are often a lightning rod for their owners’ emotions and dysfunction at home.  Justin has an amazing gift to break down these complex issues with incredible heart, humor and, sometimes, much-needed candor.”
